Who I am...

In some of the investigations and projects, you'll see a reference to "Mr. G". That's me.

This material and learning math in general is not about me, so I hesitate to say anything about myself. That said, if you are going to invest some of your time in this material, you should know a few things about me.

1) I graduated from Penn State (too many years ago to count) with an BS degree and an MA degree in Mathematics (emphasis on Algebraic Number Theory).

2) I worked as an engineer right after grad school. I "threw all that away" (to paraphrase my father) to go to law school and spent many years being a lawyer, one who was not afraid of numbers.

3) After working as a lawyer for many years, I chucked that to become a public high school math teacher. For 16 years, I taught practically every high school math class our county had to offer, from Algebra 1 to Multivariable Calculus. (I never taught stats, go figure.)

4) I retired from teaching and started putting this material together to give me something to do and keep out of trouble with my wife during my retirement years.

The material here is derived from my efforts over those years to teach the kids a bit differently and hopefully get them to see that "Math doesn't have to suck!".
